-THE TAKE-

It's August 21st, 2026. No new real milestone this week in the US war with Iran, other than continued pressure. But, I've been following this thing since the first strikes, and it's time to write on it. So let's get into it. Iran has a long, well-documented history of hostility toward the United States. They fund terrorism worldwide. The regime currently in power is run by Islamic radicals. That's not a hot take. That's just what it is. These are things that happened, and they are still happening.

Here's the question I actually want to sit with: HOW DID WE GET TO THE POINT WHERE SO MANY AMERICANS ARE ROOTING FOR A TERRORIST REGIME OVER THEIR OWN COUNTRY? If you let the mainstream media do your thinking for you, Trump ordered strikes on Iran out of nowhere, and the people over there are just innocent bystanders minding their business. Never mind the crimes against humanity. Never mind the executions. Never mind the decades of plotting against America and funding terror cells across the globe. Those things happened. But a large chunk of the population doesn't correctly clock any of it as a problem, and a big reason why is simple: Donald Trump is the president, and a lot of the left has a straight-up derangement around that fact. We all recognize it, it’s called “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and it’s a real thing. That's just what it is too.

This is where the people I call the socially engineered masses show up on cue. Say something like what I just said and watch the predictable playbook run — the labeling, the deflecting, the "Trumper" label, as if that one word is supposed to make a grown man cower. It doesn't. Cute try, though. Side note, because it connects: one of the biggest problems with how the left understands "the right" is that they're arguing against a caricature they built themselves, while never clocking that the real caricature is what's happening on their own side. Common sense gets treated as extremism over there. Normal gets treated as dangerous. That's a bigger piece for another day, but it's the same root cause — the left/right paradigm and the conditioning baked into it keeps people from just looking at issues with plain common sense instead of partisan reflex. If more people could see that conditioning for what it is, a lot of this would stop being confusing.

Then there's the piece MSM really doesn't want front and center: Iran's steady march toward nuclear capability, which is a threat the entire world has to take seriously, not just us. Past administrations handled this by trying to pacify Iran, hoping appeasement would make them less dangerous over time. Trump is the first president to look at it and say the regime actually needs to be dealt with, plainly, out loud. I'm with it. You want to fund terror, push radical Islam around the globe, and openly work toward wiping out a people you hate? Iran can get this work.

Zoom out further and there's a geopolitical angle nobody's connecting for people. China has spent years quietly working to overtake the US as the world's dominant superpower, and we handed them a head start by shipping American manufacturing overseas — mostly to them. Did they act like a real ally in return? No. They stole American intellectual property, manufactured knockoffs using slave labor, and undercut everyone on price, flooding Amazon, eBay, and Mercari with a counterfeit economy on a scale we've genuinely never seen before, and it's basically legal because of how the platforms are set up. China also has backdoor arrangements to buy Iranian oil at a discount, which keeps their manufacturing engine running. Iran is a supplier to the regime trying to replace us on the world stage. Iran can get this work.

Layer BRICS on top of that — Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and the growing list of nations now aligned with them — working to knock the petrodollar off its perch as the currency the world trades in. Iran plays a role in that project too. Which is why, to me, the real war here isn't the one people are watching on the news. It's an economic one. THE BLOCKADE is the actual battlefield. Understand something about parts of the Islamic world — I know there are different sects, and I'm not painting with one brush — but in certain strains, dying for a cause is treated as noble, even honorable, even when the cause itself is violent and unhinged outside of the true believers. Bombing a population that isn't afraid to die is a losing proposition, militarily and politically. The blockade does something different. It starves the regime economically. It cuts off their trading partners. It leaves their storehouses full with nowhere to sell. It drives their inflation through the roof. And it forces other countries scrambling for oil to find new suppliers — including us. It's a bully finally getting matched by somebody just as big who wasn't trying to throw the first punch. Eventually it has to happen, and it isn't pretty when it does.

I want to be clear I'm not pro-war. I'm also not naive, and I'm not slow. I see what's actually happening here. So far this conflict has run with real precision — targeted hits, not indiscriminate destruction — very similar to what happened in Venezuela, and to a lesser extent Mexico, where the Mexican military took out the head of the Jalisco cartel themselves with an assist from US intelligence in the background. That's not a fluke. That's what it looks like when a military operates with both principle and skill, the kind that only comes from being an actual superpower who isn’t interested in helping Iran spread Radical Islam. I'd like this to end quickly. I'd like Iranian civilians to come out the other side unharmed. And I'd genuinely like to see a government over there that isn't a radical terrorist regime. All of that can be true at once.

Now let me sit on the part that genuinely stops me in my tracks every time I think about it, because it deserves more than a passing mention. There are people in this country — not a handful, a real number — who actually believe Iran is WINNING this. Not "holding their own." Winning. They believe Iran negotiates in good faith while America stalls. They believe Iran is just protecting their nation. They believe Iran is the one actually calling the shots in these talks. They believe the American military is running low on missiles, running low on ammunition, technologically behind, somehow outmatched by a country we could dismantle in a week if we truly wanted to. Sit with that for a second. The most funded, most advanced, most lethal military machine in the history of the planet, and people have been convinced it's the underdog against a regime that can barely keep the lights on in its own cities. How does a belief that disconnected from reality take root in that many minds at once? It doesn't happen by accident. It happens because CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC have been feeding it to them, night after night, segment after segment, dressing up a terrorist state as the sympathetic party and dressing down their own country's military as somehow the weaker side. And people believe it. Not because the evidence points that way — none of it does — but because the hatred for Trump runs so deep that some folks would rather see America look weak than see him get credit for anything. That's not analysis. That's not skepticism. That's rooting for the other team in your own country's war, and dressing it up as principle. It is WILD, and I don't think it's getting better anytime soon.

Right now, we've got a huge share of the country too scared to say any of this plainly, because THEY ARE SCARED. They're terrified of sounding like they're not "inclusive." They're scared to say one critical word about a regime that has said plenty of terrible things about us. They’re scared to say anything negative about Islam. Being scared is one of the tools that the regime and oddly enough, the media uses to keep people off the trail. That's conditioning, that’s the social engineering. I've followed this closely since it started, and I still haven't seen anything quite like the level of disconnect between what's actually happening on the ground and what a huge chunk of Americans “believe” is happening. That gap is the whole story, honestly. Everything else is downstream of it.

I'm just glad I don't think like the masses. I bring these pieces to give something else for people to think about. Iran can get this work.
