What Are Ya'll Talkin' About?
My Informed Nuanced Unapologetic Takes Everyday

-THE TAKE-
YOUR PROBLEM IS LIBERALISM!!!
I don't even know how to get into this one, but I'm gonna try.
I used to love listening to the late Pastor Stephen Darby. His sermons were direct and not sugarcoated. AT ALL. 😂 One of them was titled "Your Problem Is Witches," and in it he laid out how a lot of people are caught up in various forms of witchcraft, knowingly or unknowingly, either in their own lives or through a trickle-down effect from family and friends who have influence over them. He was mainly talking to church folks: people involved in Freemasonry, the Order of the Eastern Star, Black Greek fraternities and sororities, and certain forms of African spirituality that are occult at the root but get waved off as "not so" because they're framed as racial or ancestral tradition. It was a deep sermon. At its core, it was a challenge to examine the people and things influencing your life that aren't Christ and the Bible, to pray against those things, and to pray for clarity on what God would have you do. (CLARITY is another piece I'll be writing soon.)
That sermon gave me the impetus for this one, because I believe there's a modern version of what he was preaching about. Different spirit, same effect. Something with real influence over people's lives that isn't Christ and isn't the Bible, sitting right in the middle of the church, and most people mistake it for compassion, fairness, and progress.
When I say "your problem is Liberalism," I mean Liberalism is the thing affecting people the most and driving a lot of the ills we see in society. But I'm a Christian. I expect the lost to be lost. What we should not expect is for people who profess to follow Christ to be deceived about nearly everything of spiritual importance. That's a CRAZY notion when you sit with it: so many Christians completely clueless on how to reconcile (MAKE MATCH) their Biblical values with every other area of their lives. They'll shout on Sunday about the very things they vote against on Tuesday.
If you're reading this somewhere other than my website, this idea of Christians failing to reconcile their Biblical worldview with their politics is pretty much the flagship idea behind this whole brand. Check it out at waytaminute.com. Tons of thought pieces over there, completely free. It's an outlet for my writing, and I'd seriously appreciate a follow. Enough of them, and the network behind the platform helps pay for more time to do this work, which I believe is essential.
What I mean by Liberalism
Before I go any further, let me define my terms, because most people hear "Liberalism" and think "Democrats." That's part of it, but it's the smallest part. Liberalism, as I see it, is the real religion being pushed in America. When I say "pushed," I mean it's the worldview running through every area of human activity: media, education, the arts, finance, politics, and yes, even religion. It has its own doctrines, its own sacraments, its own priesthood, and its own heretics. It just never calls itself a religion, which is exactly what makes it so effective. People who would never knowingly join a false religion will practice this one every day of their lives and call it being a good person.
And at its foundation, Liberalism is built on one principle: "Do what thou wilt." Some of you recognize that saying. Some of you don't. If you don't, look it up. It will explain a lot and connect some dots. I'll give you a head start. That phrase is the central law of Thelema, the religion founded by the occultist Aleister Crowley in 1904, a man who proudly called himself "the Great Beast." So when I say Pastor Darby's sermon on witchcraft gave me the impetus for this piece, I mean it more literally than you might think. The governing principle of the most powerful worldview in America traces straight back to the occult.
Think about how that principle shows up in plain English. Follow your heart. Live your truth. You do you. My body, my choice. Love is love. Nobody gets to tell me who I am. Every one of those slogans IS "do what thou wilt." The self is the final authority, feelings decide what's right, and anything that says "no" to the self, whether it's God, the Bible, a parent, a border, or a biological fact, gets labeled hateful and pushed aside. Once you see that foundation, the positions people hold on all these issues stop looking random. They all come out of the same root.
Let me break down my thought process. If any of these sound like you, your problem is Liberalism.
You're a Christian still supporting abortion. (Yes, I’m coming in swingin’)
Liberalism did that. Some Christians got there honestly, through empathy for a scared young woman in a hard situation, and I understand that. But either you never fully understood the brutality of the practice, or, more likely, you are or have been engaged in sex outside of marriage, and abortion is what lets that lifestyle continue without consequences. You've bought into the feminist notion that a woman can do anything she wants, so the decision is solely hers because it's her body carrying and birthing the baby. The Bible doesn't leave that question open. "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee" (Jeremiah 1:5). Even the science is more honest than the culture on this one: from conception, that child carries its own DNA, distinct from the mother's. Her body is carrying it, and that's real, but there's a second body in the picture, and that body has a Creator who already knew it by name. "My body, my choice" IS "do what thou wilt." It's the self deciding its plans matter more than a life God already formed.
You're a Christian who believes the LGBT agenda is fine and harming no one.
Liberalism did that. You've been indoctrinated to believe that disagreeing with the homosexual lifestyle equals hating a person. You don't want to offend anyone. You're probably a very empathetic, sympathetic person, which is a good thing, right up until it comes at the expense of your Biblical worldview. Look at how Jesus actually handled sin. He protected the woman caught in adultery from the crowd that wanted to stone her, and then He told her, "go, and sin no more" (John 8:11). Both halves of that sentence matter. Liberalism keeps the compassion, throws out the correction, and calls what's left "love." Real love tells people the truth even when the truth costs you something socially. Silence for the sake of comfort is just comfort. And "love is love" is the purest form of the creed there is: whatever you desire is who you are, and whoever questions the desire is attacking the person. That's "do what thou wilt" applied to identity itself.
You're a Christian who believes in open borders and multiculturalism.
Liberalism did that. The idea that a Christian nation like America has no right to want to remain Christian, the same idea that turned "Christian Nationalism" into a bad word, is Liberalism through and through. Think about the double standard for a second. Saudi Arabia doesn't permit a single public church, and nobody on the evening news calls that "Muslim Nationalism." America wants to stay what it was built to be, and suddenly it's a threat to democracy. The same creed that tells the individual "no limits" tells the nation the same thing: no borders, no defined identity, no right to say no to anybody. A person without boundaries ends up a mess. So does a country.
Then look at what the "compassion" actually costs. Federal law bars people here illegally from most federal benefits, so blue states have stepped in to cover them on their own dime. California alone now has roughly 1.6 million immigrants without legal status enrolled in Medi-Cal, at about $8.5 billion a year out of the state's general fund. Meanwhile, plenty of working citizens earn just enough to be shut out of that same program and are paying for their own coverage out of pocket. Those citizens are funding a benefit they can't get. Somebody should have to explain how that counts as Christian charity.
You're a Christian who only votes Democrat and calls it "the lesser of two evils."
THIS ONE IS VERY BIG IN THE BLACK CHURCH. I KNOW! Liberalism did it. In 2024, Pew's study of validated voters found Trump won just 15% of Black Protestants, which means roughly 85% went the other way, and that was considered a big shift. Now line that number up against the platform: abortion with as few limits as possible, gender ideology in the schools, and the government positioned as the provider in place of the family. The same congregation will say "amen" to a sermon on the sanctity of life and then vote, at an 85% clip, for the party most committed to ending it. "Lesser of two evils" is how people make peace with that contradiction. It lets you keep the habit without ever examining the cost. Most people never actually sat down and measured which evil was lesser. They absorbed the answer from the culture and never checked it against the Word. If Liberalism is the religion, the Democrat Party is its political arm, and a whole lot of Black churchgoers are supporting it every November without realizing it.
You're a Christian supporting Muslims getting into the US government.
Liberalism. I'm talking about political Islam here: the organized movement that treats Islam as a political system meant to govern a nation, not your Muslim coworker who just wants to get home to his family. But that movement is real, it has a strategy, and you're probably not up to speed on it, even though it's moving fast in other countries right under our noses. You've likely only heard rumblings about it and wrote it off as conspiracy theory. You're not up to speed on Taqiyya either. It's a real doctrine, rooted in Islamic jurisprudence (especially Shia), that permits concealing what you actually believe when you're under pressure, and I believe it's being used to deceive Americans as we speak.
Start with Brussels, the capital of the European Union. Muslims are now estimated at roughly a quarter of the city's population. In 2012, a party that literally named itself the Islam Party won council seats in Molenbeek and Anderlecht, two Brussels districts, and its founder told reporters plainly that he was for Sharia. Molenbeek is the same district that became home base for key figures behind the 2015 Paris attacks, and it was tied to the cell behind the 2016 Brussels bombings that killed 32 people. None of that happened overnight. It happened one neighborhood, one council seat, and one "that's just their culture" at a time, while Belgian leaders called anybody who noticed a bigot.
France is living through it right now, and this time the warning isn't coming from some talk radio host. In May 2025, France's own government released a 73-page report on the Muslim Brotherhood and political Islam, warning of a deliberate strategy of "entryism," meaning working its way inside schools, associations, sports, and local government. It identified 139 places of worship tied to the Brotherhood's French branch, around 280 affiliated organizations, and 21 schools educating thousands of kids. Macron himself ordered new proposals in response, citing the seriousness of the findings. When the French government, which is nobody's idea of a right-wing operation, puts it in writing, the "conspiracy theory" excuse is dead.
Then there's Spain, which I wrote about recently. If you missed that piece, it's on waytaminute.com, and it fits right alongside this one. Different country, same pattern.
And before anybody says "that's Europe, not us": the plan for America was written down decades ago. In 1991, a Muslim Brotherhood figure in America named Mohamed Akram wrote an internal document known as the Explanatory Memorandum. The FBI recovered it in a 2004 search, and it was entered as evidence in the Holy Land Foundation case, the largest terrorism-financing prosecution in American history, which ended in 2008 with the charity and five of its leaders convicted of funneling support to Hamas. In that memo, the Brotherhood described its work in America as a "grand Jihad" aimed at destroying Western civilization from within. The approach it laid out was patient: build institutions, build coalitions, and work through the system instead of against it. And it isn't just a document from 1991. There are videos all over the internet of political Islamists openly discussing HOW they would take over America. Some of them don't even bother with Taqiyya.
There's one video in particular every Christian should see. In it, a political Islamist explains WHY his movement always gets in bed with the left-wing party of whatever country it's in. His reasoning was simple. The left doesn't have values, so there's nothing to push against. The conservative party tends to have values, so it's much harder to infiltrate. [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/gHrzX6QXOT0]
Sit with that for a minute, because it's the thesis of this entire piece coming straight out of the mouth of the opposition. A worldview built on "do what thou wilt" can't defend itself. It can't say no to anything, so it can't say no to the people who plan to replace it. And the numbers back up his strategy. In France's 2024 European elections, the polling firm Ifop found 62% of Muslim voters backed Jean-Luc Mélenchon's far-left party, La France Insoumise. In the 2022 presidential first round, 69% voted for Mélenchon himself. Same play, every time.
Now compare that to Japan, a country that never bought into multiculturalism and guards its culture without apologizing for it. Out of roughly 124 million people, Japan's Muslim population is estimated at around 230,000, less than two-tenths of one percent, and the large majority of them are foreigners. A nation that still knows how to say "no" doesn't get infiltrated. It just stays Japan.
When New York City swore in its first Muslim mayor on the Quran this past January, plenty of Christians celebrated it as a milestone for diversity. A discerning Christian asks a different set of questions. What does this person's worldview say about mine? What does it want for the country my kids will grow up in? People govern from what they believe. Always have. So what someone believes is the first thing you should want to know, and it's the last thing Liberalism wants you to ask. Notice how the creed works here. Liberalism will make space for any faith at all except the one that tells it "no." Christianity says the self isn't king, so Christianity is the one faith that has to be kept in its place, and every other faith gets waved through as "diversity."
The capture
It is Liberalism that keeps people from truly SEEING (CLARITY) what's happening. We're captured by it, and the capture is total because the religion is being pushed through every part of our culture.
Start with education. From kindergarten on, we get hit with the secular worldview: twelve years of school, four more of college, all of it teaching that truth is relative, the self is sovereign, and the Bible is a historical curiosity at best. That's how you get what I call the Default Liberal, somebody raised with traditional values at home who still comes out the other side liberal. Mama and the church get Sunday and a few evenings. The pipeline gets the rest of the week.
Then the media picks up where school leaves off, telling you every night who the heroes and villains are, and conveniently, the villains are always the people still saying "no." The movies, the shows, and the music all push the same message: follow your heart and live your truth. Finance preaches it too. "Treat yourself," "you deserve it," debt as a lifestyle, and corporations rolling out rainbow logos every June to show where they stand. Politics turns the creed into law. And then, saddest of all, religion itself. Pulpits that used to preach repentance now preach self-esteem. Sermons that used to call sin by its name now call it "your journey."
When the same message comes at you from every direction, all day, for your whole life, it stops feeling like a message. It feels like reality. That's the capture. Mix that with racial idolatry, gender wars, and plain old pride and ego, and you've got something that takes real prayer and discernment to work through.
Americans, Christians: if you're on the wrong side of these societal issues (and most will SWEAR they're on the right side), your problem is Liberalism. It isn't that people are haters, fascists, Nazis, racists, sexists, phobes, or any of the other labels created to keep folks off the scent of the real problem. Those labels exist to shut down the person asking the question before anybody has to answer it. The real problem is Liberalism. You've understood these issues through your emotions, your surface-level sensibilities, and a micro perspective. A macro perspective asks different questions. "Why should I support people from other countries entering our country illegally and getting benefits funded by taxpayer money, benefits TAXPAYERS CAN'T EVEN GET?" Or: "Why is it bad for a Christian nation to want to stay Christian instead of becoming Muslim, but it's not bad for a Muslim nation to want to stay Muslim instead of becoming Christian?"
Those are just a couple of simple examples, but I watch people really struggle with this stuff. I'm talking about people I know. Intelligent people. Good people. Friends. Family. Preachers. Teachers. High-level professionals. ALL OF IT. It's the Liberalism, and it's crazy to watch it happen in real time, every day. It tells me we truly are living in the "last days." Knowledge has increased, but most of that knowledge is really just information, and information is nothing without proper discernment.
That's where we are today: NO DISCERNMENT, everywhere. It's rampant, even in the churches, and that's probably the scariest place for it to be missing. Our leaders are captured, which means a lot of the congregants are captured. In 2020, for the first time in more than eighty years of Gallup tracking, fewer than half of Americans belonged to a church, synagogue, or mosque. It was 70% as recently as 1999. And many of those still coming are coming to change the church and the Word of God instead of changing themselves. (THAT WILL PREACH.) We have a whole lot of problems, and at the core of them, in 2026, in Western civilization especially, the problem is Liberalism.
Pastor Darby's challenge works just as well here as it did for his sermon. Examine what's influencing you that isn't Christ. Pray against it. Ask God for clarity. The world's religion says "do what thou wilt." Ours says "not my will, but thine, be done." The diagnosis is Liberalism. The cure is the same as it's always been.

-THE CLOSE-
That's the minute. You paused, you looked closer — that's the whole point. If this made you think, do two things: forward it to one person who needs to slow down too, and if somebody sent you here, get on the list so you don't miss the next one. See clearly. Think deeply. Respond wisely. — WAYTAMINUTE
